Default BPC Detox Day 3

My final day of a liquid diet. I woke up and drank my first juice and followed it with a cup of green tea and lots of water. I took care of a few things around my place and then headed out for a 2 hour endurance ride. I drank my second juice as I was walking out the door. I didn't have high hopes for a good ride since I really haven't been eating much (1200 cal) for the past 2 days while still working out. I actually had a great ride. I kept it mostly flat but it was fairly windy. I didn't have that week feeling in my legs like on day 1 and it was the first, and only time, I didn't feel hungry since starting the detox. My power was slightly lower then usual and my HR was a bit higher. I also had a HR spike whenever I was climbing or having to speed up for a traffic light so I wouldn't recommend doing any anaerobic capacity intervals while doing a detox. After my ride I drank my 3rd juice as soon as I got in. The rest of the day was difficult. I was very hungry and none of the juices, tea, or water made a difference. I couldn't stop thinking about food. In between my 4th and 5th juice I had to drink some coconut water because I was feeling light headed. That helped a bit but I was still starving. I made it through the evening and went to bed exhausted at 10pm. I lost a total of 6 lbs in 3 days and it wasn't water weight since I was drinking tons of fluids. I'm down to my race weight of 133lbs. I will gain some of that back, I know, but it is nice to feel so light on the bike. All I need is some food to be able to take advantage of that now.

Post detox

I had to work 7am-7pm on my first day off the detox. I was so happy to be eating solid food again but I couldn't jump in and just eat a pizza or a burger. You have to ease your body into it or you can get pretty ill. They recommend only eating vegetables, broth, juice the first day. Some fruit added on day 2 and finally some carbs and maybe fish on your 3rd day post detox. I couldn't do my job eating only their recommendations so I ate some irish oatmeal...very small amount...for breakfast. I brought juice and some cooked spinach, butternut squash soup. I felt so ill for the entire morning. My legs were so week and I had some flu like symptoms. I felt as if my body wasnt' digesting what I was eating. It wasnt' until later in the afternoon that I started feeling normal. I made it through the day but it wasn't fun.

Overall, I found the detox very hard. A much different experience then what my GF and a few other people had. I don't know why. I'm no stranger to hunger pains, cutting weight severly for wrestling when I was younger as well as cutting a few pounds during the season now. My body just didn't react well overall. I didn't feel any better at any point so far. All I felt was hungry...all the time. The only visible benefit has been the weight lose. I'm sure there have been some internal health benefits, I hope. I may try this again at some point but I will make sure to do it right after the season ends so I can just stay off the bike for 3 days. If anyone else has had some experience with this detox, or another, maybe they can give a different account. This is what I went through...no sugar coating it. Thanks for reading.
